The winds of the north lingered, battering those who had survived a war to end all wars. Culouth remained as the unhealed wound on the people of Terra. Hours passed as the lights of the battle of the Creators faded. The great domed city teetered and fell, slamming into the earth and hollowing out a crater.

Smoke and ash covered the lands like a brown fog that could not be lifted. For months on end, it hung as reminder of the horrors of the War of Creators.Trade had ground to a halt. There was no overreaching governmental body. Illigard harbored a steady stream of refugees. Rumors traveled quickly, spreading across the land. Though Culouth had fallen from the sky, it had been born anew.

The Canyon, the edge of the deep scar caused by the falling of Culouth, stood as a barrier separating two worlds. It carved its way very nearly to the Sea of Torments, but hooked sharply back to the east. The machines of the old regime had been destroyed, but the depravity of Culouth had not been broken. It was a desolate stretch of wasteland and none that sought refuge in Illigard dared to break the line into that haunted place. The world need hope and many thought to look to the Ai’mun’hereun.

But E’Malkai had disappeared into the north. The masses had watched the lights in the skies and thought no more of it. A religious faction called the Covenant of the Light restored Duirin.
